Welcome to the Old Gillian website and database

Please make use of the controls / links on the left side of the page or at the bottom of the page.

	The idea of this website is to make it possible for Old Gillians to retrieve information about other Old Gillians, directly from a centralised database. It is also used to collect new information for Old Gillians not currently in the database, as well as allowing everyone to keep their own information up to date. By registering on the website, you will also receive the monthly newsletter, which will contain information about happenings in the school, as well as in the Old Gillian Union. Please make use of the features on the website and post messages on the discussion forum. Please feel free to send any queries or comments to webmaster@oldgillians.co.za.

A group for Old Gillians / Gillians have been created on Facebook! Simply search for "Gill College" and join the group to share photos, memories and anything else regarding Gill College! If you are not yet signed up on facebook, you can do so on www.facebook.com. For help regardgin Facebook, you can contact the webmaster.

Dear Old Gillians

It is a brand new year of many challenges and exciting opportunities - especially as 2009 is our schools 140th anniversary. The committee has been actively involved in planning projects for the new year and to update the database of the Old Gillians.

The committee made contact with other old boy unions to see how they operate. It is a fact that when the old boys union of a school is strong and active, it can be of great value to the school. Therefore I appeal to all Old Gillians to maintain contact with your school – become involved in the activities of the Old Gillian’s Union. Your school needs you! We are where we are today largely because of the excellent education we received at Gill. Give back a little of what you have received at Gill College through the years. If there are any Old Gillians out there with ideas and proposals for the union to consider implementing, please contact the union. We will welcome any ideas and we need the input of every possible person, because we can greatly benefit with your inputs.

Things really seem to be going well at the school and I would like to thank our headmaster, Mr Zietsman, and his staff for the wonderful work they are doing for our school. The matric class of 2008 had a 100% pass rate, well done! This also proof that the school is going from strength to strength.

Ons wil graag he dat al die verskillende reunie-groepe by die skool moet vergader. Ons sal al die nodige fasiliteite en etes voorsien. Die persone wat die reunies reel, moet asseblief vir my kontak by, 042 235 1577 / 083 945 4785 / oldgillians@r63.co.za , vir inligting en om die nodige reelings te tref.

Ek wil weer eens ‘n beroep doen aan alle Oud-Gilliane om asseblief by die Oud-Gilliane databasis te registreer. In die toekoms gaan ons net die persone wat daar geregistreer is, van inligting voorsien. Ons besef dat daar mense is wat nie toegang tot die internet het nie en dat ons die inligting aan hulle sal moet pos, ongelukkig beloop dit kostes. Ons doen dis ‘n beroep op die persone wat graag op hoogte van die skool se sake gehou wil word, om ons te kontak en die nodige reelings te tref.

Lastly I would like to thank all Gillian’s for their positive, enthusiastic and loyal involvement and commitment to our school. It is only through joint effort and the countless blessings from our Heavenly Father that Gill College could reach the heights it did in 2008.
